Spring Season Preview

This Fall, Woman Scorned had a successful and exciting season. With the majority of girls playing on a variety of club teams, switching between college and club tournaments every weekend kept the team fully submerged in ultimate. These Fall season opportunities increased the team’s learning curve substantially.

Woman Scorned attended Grinnell, Exit 69, No Wisconsequences, and Harvest Moon. The combination of having so many upperclassmen playing club and a large recruiting class, made us fortunate enough to be able to play wide rotations and even split X/Y to allow increased playing time across the board and build the depth of our program. With one of the most impressive rookie classes yet, Woman Scorned still did damage in the Fall with a season record of 26-5.

Scorned is steamrolling into the Spring season with an abundance of excitement, motivation, and energy. The team is more cohesive and driven than ever. You will be able to see us at the following tournaments:

January 22, 23- Iowa City Indoor Tournament

March 5,6- Midwest Throwdown (St. Louis, MO)

March 12, 13- College Easterns (Wilmington, NC)

March 26, 27- College Centex (Austin, TX)

April 2, 3- Fool’s Fest (Lawrence, KS)

2011 USAU College Women’s Series

We are excited for the privilege to play at these tournaments and compete against the variety of contenders at each. Just the anticipation of all the creative field cheers, new nicknames, team cheers, ridiculous costume ideas, car ride shenanigans, inconceivable D’s, dominating skys, incredible layouts, flawless hucks, embarrassing stories, intense workouts, passionate determination, and Scorned love is overwhelming. With big hearts, strong bodies, and ready minds, we head into the next five months in exploration of the best times of our lives. We are ready to feel the love and unleash the fury that is Woman Scorned.

“Heav’n has no rage like love to hatred turned. Nor Hell a fury, like a woman scorn’d.” –William Congreve
