New Year, New Team

Here’s to the new year, for woman scorned that means a new season, and a new team. For our rookies, everything about this season is new. Including the travel, competition, and time commitment of the spring season.  For each and every returning player, this new season brings a brand new role to play. After an incredible season last year, it’s hard to know what to expect for the upcoming season. We lost some huge contributors, and great friends from last year’s squad, and their shoes are impossible to fill. This season is not about trying to fill last years spots, and it isn’t a “rebuilding year”. It is about utilizing every player for their unique contribution to the team. This season’s roster is completely different than the last. This is a new team, with new attitudes and ideas. This team is a combination of returning WS who have been working hard over the off season, some brand new rookies with an incredible amount of drive and determination, and some rookie members bringing in years of high school and/or college experience. To top it off, we have a world class coaching pair, who have been laying the groundwork of this team for the past 3 seasons.

This season is going to be hard work. It’s not about getting to where we were last season, but where we want to be for this one.  During the fall we have gone back to the basics, laying the groundwork of our offense and defense, and growing as a team. Lucky for us we have amazing leadership from our coaches and captains, and a team willing to work hard to achieve its goals.  Woman Scorned prides itself on utilizing every member during our season tournaments. Every player plays during every game during our regular season, its as simple as that.
