Yeah-eh-ah-eh-ahaaaa, It's a Party in the USA

In order to fulfill the blood binding pact that Jazz and I made, we were obligated to throw a birthday party on Wednesday night (worked out around prac and sprints, of course). The music was picked and the Facebook event was made. All was in order. Guest came from all directions-even as far as Wisconsin!

The day was great right from the start. Stine and I went to Indian Palace for some tasty birthday lunch. After class and work, the night was officially started off with a birthday dinner at none other than Hickory Park! Mikey, Schafbuch, Robyn, and Isaac made the most of it by insisting on getting the waitresses to sing the happy birthday to me, and we all shared the deliciously free ice cream.

While we were hitting up HP, Jazz and Stine were treating our other Eau Claire visitors (Brit and Martha) to some food on Welch. Shortly after dinner, it was time to start the party up. There were the usual card games, dance offs, showing Archie’s tricks off, disc races, and random shenanigans. After several hours at the LLC, we decided it was necessary to head to the station. We found many more people at the regular hang out spot and more mingling was done. The night ended with an epic story that Robyn can tell much better than myself, but basically I had the grand idea to rearrange my room and Robyn ended up with a 250 pound bookshelf (which is no longer in one piece) pinning her against the wall while I laughed.

Overall I would have to say that the birthday was a great success. The rest of the week involved more celebrating (even after midnight Thursday practice because the EC people didn’t leave), and birthday week was done right!

My birthday gifts received:
From: Annihka- a dinosaur tattoo
Daisy- a lap dance that I have yet to receive
Casey- drank a disc in my honor (well half)
Robyn- a male escort

Soooo, I’m not going to bore you with any stories about myself-mostly because everyone already knows them (getting bit by a bald eagle?). But I will tell you a little bit about myself. I am a graduating senior, majoring in Animal Science/Pre-veterinary Medicine. I absolutely love my classes, and I also enjoy telling everyone I know about the weird medical facts and the sweet animal production stats. I CAN NOT WAIT until the day that I have a “dr.” before my name...but seriously I am very excited about veterinary school.

I didn’t start college as a Frisbee player (actually I was a wrestling manager), but the amazing Rachel Bottjen made me come to practice one night, I puked afterward, my first tourney was the epic SB ‘08, and I have been hooked ever since! I am not your average Ultimater-I am on time (even early sometimes), I hate wearing jerseys, I love country music, and I am in no way a hippie- but I love the game and the way of life! My favorite thing about ultimate is meeting people, especially when it’s through friendly trash talk in games. That is a true bond.

I love playing for Woman Scorned. It has opened up doors I could have never foreseen, and I have made some of the best friends of my life! These ladies are awesome-we go from running ravaging sprints, playing heart bursting games, to way over-celebrating life-all along the way they know how to have a great time!

Well that is enough about me. If you want to know more, just ask.

Ultimate is my life, everything else is just for fun.

January 11th: Jasmine’s birthday started out with a lot of sweating, grunting, and heavy breathing which involved much of the WS and the captain of ISU-Jeremy Keiser. Although she wasn’t involved in the action, Tai was standing around watching, giving directions, and adding pointers. After an impressive hour-for the ISUC guys involved, that is- we left Forker Gym and headed home for quick showers before heading out to continue the celebration.

Estas was our first stop. We played pool, laughed at the girls wearing stilettos in January, and made fun of the nerdy guys who bring their own cue sticks to the bar. We also found out that Estas has a new birthday deal: Free tacos on the Tuesday after your bday! We hit that up fosho’ the next night. After hitting a few more places and meeting up with many friends, including the L-Dawgy Doggity, we ended up at the Station; surprise, surprise! Although we weren’t there for long, we did get a chance to say happy birthday to Blake (Jazz’s brotha from another motha) and drink some sort of beverage that was on fire. We headed home fairly early to catch some shut eye before day 2 of our final semester.

Now there are many things about Jasmine that people may not know. Where do I even start? Ok, she really likes to yell incoherently at people, she is a D machine and she can jump like 5 feet in the air to block a huck, she is two pounds of fun in a 2 oz shot glass, and she is smart-she’s an engineer! She also really likes fried chicken, and when we went to Midwest Warm Up, she talked me into going to Church’s Chicken-which was the worst fast food experience of my life!

Jasmine is our intimidation factor on Woman Scorned. People get pretty scared when they see her and the insane layouts D’s she is capable of. It is also a rare occasion to catch her not sporting an ultimate jersey. She can normally be found in some form of Woman Scorned or CLX jersey. There are so many funny stories that I could tell about Jazzy, but unfortunately she would literally kill me if I put them up here, but if you ever are looking for a laugh, just ask her about the port-a-John at nationals, waving to her best friend as she drove by, or maybe even the Gyro stand guy stories.

While all of these Jazzisms are great, my favorite thing about Jazzy-fizzle is her ability to joke around. She is great at taking crap and isn’t shy about shooting it right back at you

. Actually, most of the time I don’t even understand the insults I receive from her, they are so sophisticated …or something. J is one of a kind, and we all know that we are lucky to have her as our leader!

An Explanitory Tale

Once upon a time, there was a magical land called Ames. And in the land of Ames, there existed a kingdom called Iowa State University. Now this kingdom was run by a group of ladies referred to as Woman Scorned, but they were fearlessly led by a set of 3 queens (Dersch, Tai, and Gibbs). Each of the queens had descendants, but the eldest princess who descended from Tai (biologically, it makes the most sense) was named Jasmine. Jasmine was the leader of the descendants and revered by all in the land and the surrounding lands!

On the eve of Jasmine's birthday week celebration, Jasmine and her trusty companion Gapstur (a transgenic hybrid descendant of all 3 queens with all of the best features-of course) made a pact. In this pact, they vowed to celebrate the week in which both of their birthdays lie, to the utmost extent possible. The stipulations were easy- no holding back and the only excuse not to celebrate was practice for the Ultimate games.

So it began.

White....Russian?

Did you know that if you say "beer can" with a Jamaican accent, it sounds like "bacon?" Well if you are friends with Annihka then you would! Annihka Murry (aka Annihka Bluebberrypicker) celebrated her birthday this month on January 10th. She turned 20 years old, and a celebration was held accordingly. In true Woman Scorned style, there was a dance party which included random dance-offs, Cassie Panther shaking her booty, Jazz and Stine doin their dance thang, and of course just a ton of fun! We like to refer to these types of dance parties as "Pants on, Dance on's" (not to be mistaken with the famous "pants off, dance off" which is completely different). The ISUC boys who were in attendance had a great time as well, enjoying the dummy boards that were won at No Wisconsiquences. The party was a grand 'ol time and a great way to prepare us for the first week of classes! Of course, I can't end this blog without telling you some great things about our Annihka. I'm pretty sure she is one of a kind AND every team out there wishes they had her. First of all, if you know Annikha at all, you know that we all think she is Russian. Is she? Isn't she? We don't really know, I think she told me she was not one time, but Gibb's dubbed her Russian at Regionals 2009 and so as far as most of us are concerned-she is! Further proof that she is awesome lies in her mode of transportation. Annikha rides a blue bicycle that is named "Blue Electra." This is her signature style and although she is normally a sweet girl who is not violent, that did change when the Blue Electra was stolen from the Bordello where she lives. This is why you don't mess with Annikha's bike- Annihka's Facebook status on Nov. 30th:

"to whoever took my bike- I hope your eyeballs slowly rot in their sockets while you are still living"

Enough said.

Annikha is one of my favorites (and officially dubbed L-Dawg's favorite Sophomore) because of her great attitude toward everything except the theft of her bicycle. Even on ridiculously long car rides, she is always game for fun. Lauren and I will never for get the game of Never-have-I-ever on the way to some tourney in Wisconsin (Hucktoberfest maybe?). Let's just say we learned some fun facts. On the way home, she had to pee really really bad and so she made us pull over, but the only thing on the exit was an Adult Video store. She chose to pee on side of the road on the exit ramp rather than risking entry to the store.

So Happy Birthday Annikha! I'm so glad you could be apart of my birthday month-your mother was very smart having you in the best month of them all!

Animal turns 21 and Taco Bell makes a killing

Although this is a little belated, a birthday blog is much instore. Our own little Christine "Animal" Rosen joined the adult world with her 21st birthday!

The night began with a buffet of Taco Bell eating. Love, Mikey, Jazz, and Joe made the arctic adventure up to the Twin Cities to help ensure Stine a good time. When they arrived, the party was well on its way and so they started eating Taco Bell. The chalupas were divine.

The night was kicked off with card game action and a dance party. Then after getting full of tacos, we move to go get more tacos downtown. As Stine was getting free tacos from several new male friends, Jazz came out of the bathroom and proceeded to walk up to Stine and this new friend and stated "hey, its twofers!!" Stine and Jazz proceed to get more free tacos. In addition, this taco joint had dancing. There was NO way of getting Stine off the dance floor... Joe would get her to the table and she would say "yup I will be right back" and once again she would find her way back to the dance floor.

The amount of tacos that were consumed created an interesting situation when a very disgruntled waitress refused to serve Jazz tacos. Stine pushed the full-o-tacos Jazz out of the way, signed for her, tipped the waitress ten bucks to zip it, and all in all took care of the situation. Then Jazz proceeded to be escorted out of the joint to sleep in a slumber the rest of the night, but before this she decided to paint the snow with projectile rainbow paint. She met a new friend who helped her through the food coma from consuming so many Taco Bell tacos. Pretty sure she had one of everything on the menu.

Stine and Jazz were definitely THE PARTY...but while they were off consuming free tacos, JB and mike ate fries and protected our booth. Although Jazz found her own way home, the rest of the gang got back a while later due to the fact that they could not get Stine off the dance floor. After safely making it back...finally...some randos show up at the house (later finding out that Stine invited them) everyone played catch phrase and devoured deliciously nasty white castles. The night went on with more taco eating, and the gang eventually turned out around 4:30am. Great night it was.

The next morning wasn't the prettiest, as we all know what happens when you eat too much Taco Bell. Thankfully, everyone survived and Stine's birthday extravaganza was a success. Memories were made and regrets were discussed.

I guess the lesson to get from this is: tacos are dangerous! Be careful when consuming too many.

With apologies,

-Jazz, Stine, Jessy, and little bit of Gap
