B-E-C, Attack!

What do bicycles, chemistry, the Pesch family, and ultimate have in common?... yup, that's right-Becca Miller. She may be a noob, but this girl is a pure natural at ultimate. It also really helps that (as Gibbs once put it) she is addicted to exercise. She is a machine.

One thing that was awesome about Becca (and Lady Pesch-her BFFE&E) was that we did not have to worry about their disc skills. From the moment they started ultimate, they spent 97% of every non-practice minute throwing a disc around. Once that obstacle was out of the way, teaching the rest of the game was fairly easy!

Despite fighting injury all season, Becca is a true threat on the field. She has great cutter vision, can read a disc well (from chasing down all of Peschy's throws? haha jk), has no problem skying people, and can out run most of us on the team! In fact, when we started weekly sprint workouts in January, the dudes started coming with us. I remember Becca kicking all of their butts in Forker Gym.

Although the team has suffered from having her injured on the sidelines, it has revealed a sweet new secret about Becca. She takes the greatest/funniest stats that WS has ever had! I really appreciate these stats when trying to write tournament recap blogs, PLUS the coaches and players who aren't present get to relive the games with a true feel for what went on. It is great to just quote the book and know that the humor is already there.

Off the field, Becca is a true Scorned lady. In fact, she reminds me of Meghan Minner (one of the WS greats) quite a bit. She may be quiet, but once you get her going, it is well worth it. She has great one liners and definitely knows how to have fun (one of the requirements for Scorned). Becca is a chemistry major, taking after her dad who is a chem professor at ISU. She bikes competitively and is pretty much always doing something outside involving exercise. Lauren and I were talking, and we decided she got robbed on the "best legs" award this year. Sorry J-Rick, I mean you have great legs (obvi. with a 3 year domination on that award) but we hypothesize that Becca is going to be a shoe-in next year for this one. I mean, look for yourself:
Becca may be a rookie this year, but everyone better watch out. It has been speculated that in four years, when we (the seniors) come back and see the team, Becca is will be tearing up the field, the parties, and the stat books. We have big hopes for this one. She is truly destined for Woman Scorned greatness.
