Wastey

You know when you match up across the field when you are on the line, and you don't want someone who is going to make you look dumb or just destroy the match up? Well, on Woman Scorned, that is Hoistad. She may be handling, which means less running, right? False. Hoistad is Woman Scorned's smartest player. While her main position on the team is as handler (cus she's amazing at it), she is no liability in the cutter position. As soon as you let up on her in any way, she will break you and run you deep for the score. When it comes to ultimate, there is almost nothing she can not do.

Sarah Hoistad, better known as "Wastey," is currently studying Architecture and Spanish at ISU. She is one of those Northerners from the Twin Cities, and she is an integral part of our team. She can play the game smarter than anyone on the team. She not only knows how to maximize the utility of her own strengths, but also those of her teammates. If you think her backhand huck is her money throw, then you are wrong. There is actually no throw that she can not put off perfectly. There is also no mark that she can not break. When it comes to handling the disc, she can LITERALLY DO IT ALL! Oh, she has sick layouts too.

Off the field, when Hoistad isn't creating buildings on paper or out of toothpicks, she is usually having a good time. Wastey is another one of my favorite car-mates. I will never forget the horrific car ride back from Centex this year. First, I was able to convince her (TWICE) to follow country roads in Northern Texas in search of a Jason's Deli. Then, we attempted to sleep in her back seat while Bosco slowly killed us all with her singing. I will also never allow Bosco to sing in my presence again.

While Wastey is only a Junior, she has been a huge part of WS since her first year. Her field vision, amazing throws, and superior skills have not only helped the team on the field, but also through her teaching skills. I think it is safe to say that everyone on the team has learned from Hoistad in one way or another. Hoistad is a strong teammate and true friend. Scorned is very thankful that we can call her our own, and we have her for 2 more years!
